ChNU students were left without dormitory places before the start of studies. Almost four thousand applications for enrollment and an increase in the number of students eligible for preferential treatment caused an acute shortage of rooms in the ChNU Fedkovych student village. Some upper-year students faced a housing shortage just days before the start of the academic year. Many upper-year students were missing from previous housing lists, leading to complaints about accommodation problems.
